Wavetec Ora

Ora Assisted Surgery

ORA (Optiwave Refractive Analysis) is a diagnostic device that allows our doctors to customize your vision intraoperatively.

Rockville Eye Physicians is proud to be one of the first ophthalmology practices to use the revolutionary ORA system to perform advanced cataract surgery

What are the benefits of ORA?

The purpose of the Wavetec ORA is to allow surgeons to assess post-operative visual outcomes before you are even done with surgery. The ORA machine will take additional measurements on your eye once the cataract has been removed from the eye, but prior to the physician placing the new, artificial lens in. The ORA will help ensure proper IOL selection to optimize the procedure to fit your needs. This technology may decrease the need for glasses, LASIK enhancement, or lens implant exchange after cataract surgery. It is highly recommended that patients who have had prior LASIK or PRK undergo the Wavetec ORA measurement to improve their cataract surgery results. This is the first tool of its kind, and we are proud to be able to offer this technology to patients of Rockville Eye Physicians.

For more information, or to see if the ORA system is right for you, please contact Rockville Eye Physicians.
